Derek is a solicitor with over 20 years experience in Financial Services specialising in Risk and Compliance and is currently Head of Group Compliance Monitoring at Standard Life Group.

He ran his own regulatory and risk consultancy practice briefly and has held senior positions across a variety of Financial Services companies including Head of Legal & Risk at Lloyds TSB Scotland plc and Head of Regulation at Abbey National.

Married with three sons much time is spent at the weekends providing a transport service and the occasional round of golf!
